Workers' Compensation is a no-fault system of benefits paid by employers to workers who experience job related injuries or illnesses. The Worker’s Compensation Act (WCA) is the Illinois state law which governs an employee’s rights and employer’s obligations for injuries or diseases that happen on the job. The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (IWCC) is the State agency which operates the state court system for workers’ compensation cases. Cases are heard by an Arbitrator assigned by the Commission. Appeals of the Arbitrator's decision are heard by a panel of three Commissioners.
Greg Tuite & Associates is dedicated to the exclusive representation of workers who are injured on the job. Our office will ensure that any injured worker receives each and every benefit he or she is entitled to under State law. These include, but are not limited to:
- necessary medical care and treatment; - payment of benefits (lost time) while off work for a work-related condition; - vocational rehabilitation for those unable to return to former employment because of the injury; - payment for any permanent or partial disability; - payment for any necessary future medical expenses.
While the Workers’ Compensation Act and the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission strive to ensure a fair and expeditious resolution of disputes, the law and the Commission’s procedures can be complex. Greg Tuite & Associates will guide each client during and through the legal process of a work related injury or illness.
Work-related injuries can include the following: back injuries, carpal tunnel, rotator cuff tears, tennis elbow, ulnar nerve compression, knee injuries, sprains & strains, fractures, and amputations, burns and other scarring, breathing disorders such as asbestosis and silicosis.
Workers' Compensation claims are handled on a "contingency fee" bases. We
don't charge a fee unless we are successful in obtaining benefits for
you. The first consultation with our office is free.
